(the "Company") [NYSE: BEN] today announced net income1 of $503.1 million or $2.25 per diluted share for the quarter ended March 31, 2011, as compared to $501.2 million or $2.23 per diluted share in the previous quarter and $356.7 million or $1.55 per diluted share for the quarter ended March 31, 2010.
